Hi all, I am assisting in researching William Henry Kirk's family and
could use a little help. smile

I have found a few trees/sites with a possible William Henry Kirk, with the right year
of death, but the birth year given is off by about 12-13 years. His
parents are given as Lewis Amos Kirk Sr and Margaret Overholser.

From what I can tell from census records, he was born circa 1821-22 in Ohio,
and moved to Mercer County, IL previous to the 1850 census. I have
found them in 1850, 1855, 1860, 1865, 1870 and 1880.
I'm guessing William is either part of his father's household in 1840 or was working
on another family's farm, and was not a head of household.

He married Anne Elizabeth Wood according to family records in 1852 in
Mercer County, IL. They had their children in Illinois, and lived there
until after 1870 when William is found with his family in Hamlin, Brown
County, Kansas on the 1880 census. His date of death on his tombstone is
given as Nov 27, 1882. His daughter Rue Ella predeceased him by a
little more than a month and his wife Anne died in 1891. They appear on
FindAGrave in the United Brethren Church Cemetery in Brown County, KS.
William and Anne had several other children.

If anyone can help confirm this William Henry Kirk, I'd appreciate it.
