Where to Post

I'm trying to organize things a bit so I've made threads in the Discussion Forum for each county. If you know where the people you are researching lived, please post your queries, information, etc. in the appropriate thread/county. If you don't know where in Indiana the people you are researching lived or if they lived in multiple counties, go ahead and post to the Comment Wall below. Also, if you feel your post is urgent or you want it to be viewed by the whole group, post to the Comment Wall. As always, everyone is also still welcome to start their own discussion threads.

Since Genealogy Wise doesn't allow the option of displaying ALL Discussion Forum threads, some won't appear below. If you don't see the county or discussion that you are looking for below, click on "View All" in the bottom right of the Discussion Forum and you should be able to
find it there. Thanks!

Due to spamming fears, I am (for the time being at least) disabling the option of messaging the whole group. If you have a message you would like passed on to the whole group, get in touch with me. If you receive a spam message in your Genealogy Wise inbox along the lines of "Win a Cruise" please get in touch with me right away and I will take care of it. Thanks and sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

I think it was Greene County or close to that area as a lot of Rainbolts lived in that area. I am trying to find my great grandfathr who was born about 1845 and married 1873 and died about 1886 and his name was Elisha Rainbolt.

Hi Nancy, thanyou for you research and reply. I have checked out that Peter Ream, the dates seem to match but that one was married to Barbara Smith, And lived in Futon IN. Mine was married to Anna Catherine Zeller, and lived farther South in Clay Co. I have researched alot over the past years and have toyed with the idea that maybe he had 2 wives at the same time? They are both from PA, and both lived in OH and both moved to IN. Both passed away in 1858 also and were born the same year Thanks again for your help, Daniel Ream

Daniel, don't know if you've exhausted all the leads already on Ancestry.com for your Peter Riehm/Ream. But thought I'd mention anyway that there are several trees that come up in the search, for instance: Peter Ream, b. 5 Oct 1876, PA; d. 6 Feb 1858, Fulton Co., IN. His parents are listed as Abraham Ream, b. 24 Aug 1749, PA, d. Aug 1817, PA and Elizabeth Neidig, b. 1749, PA, d. 1790 PA......and it goes on. Maybe this is not your ggggrandfather. There are others. Just thought I would see if it helps. If you don't have Ancestry.com but would like to check out all of the other Ream info, you could get a 14 day trial membership. Good luck.

Daniel, since you are looking for Peter's parents, you might try to see if there are any early Pennsylvania records. He might be listed in a will, or in a probate record. You might want to start looking in Snyder Co., PA first, and then check nearby counties. Unfortunately, there aren't many records from that time period. USGenweb might be a good place to start looking. Good Luck!
