I'm looking for my great great grandparents, Hubert Earl Carlisle (1882-?) and Gertrude Mae Kinnick Carlisle (1884-?). I have been unable to find death dates for either. My grandmother didn't have much contact with her grandparents but remembers that Gertie Mae died in 1949 or 1950 in Indianapolis. Hubert died a few years later after living in a nursing home in Danville, IN. I've searched high and low and cannot find anything on these two! I know the Kinnick line, but would love anything on the Carlisles. I have been told that Hubert's parents were Daniel Carlyle and Martha E. Demoss Carlyle. If anyone has anything, please let me know!

I have some Carlisles in my line. Most from Morgan Co. Have you checked the Databases at the Indiana State Library?

I will check here locally. I will let you know if I find anything
I haven't checked the state library yet. I was supposed to go there 2 weekends ago, but didn't make it. I'm a bit intimidated by it, but I'll get there soon (probably when the kids are back in school :) )
The state library has online databases. You may want to give it a try.

The library staff is very helpful. The genealogy section is on the first floor. The second floor has the Newspaper Microfilms and other collections. After you get comfortable, you will want to see what the second floor has in its holdings.
Now that you mention it, I have looked at the online databases...I had forgotten those were ISL. I followed a link from a local library to get there originally. I didn't find anything when I searched those unfortunately:(
My result was the same, but you may have to find an index. Have you checked Crown Hill cemetery? I think it is the only cemetery that has a searchable database.
Yeah, I tried there but no luck. Thanks for the idea though!
