Donnelly & Related Families in County Armagh

My 2nd great-grandfather was Henry DONNELLY, b. 1830 in Derryscollop, County Armagh. According to his marriage license, his father's name was Neal DONNELLY. Family tradition states that his mother's maiden name was ANDERSON.

Henry married Jane "Jennie" MULLIN in the C of I Church in Moy, County Tyrone, in March 1859. Jennie's parents were Thomas MULLIN and Alice LIGHTBODY, who lived in Tullyroan, County Armagh.

Around 1863 Henry and Jennie DONNELLY emmigrated to America, settling in Adams County, Illinois, because they knew of another family that had settled there. Travelling with them were Jennie's mother Alice MULLIN and here two sisters, Eliza and Mary.
