Genealogy Wise

The Genealogy & Family History Social Network

I am the administrator of a Y-DNA project that covers these names. The testing lab is having a test sale through December 31, 2014.

In conjunction with the sale, the project is having a scholarship drive. The primary county of interest in the project is Cork. The project will offer a 100% funded Y-DNA test of 37 markers to a qualified man who can demonstrate an early Cork-born direct paternal ancestor with one of these names (or a variation). The project will fund 50% of a 37 marker test if the man can demonstrate a direct paternal ancestor born in Clare, Galway, Kerry, Kilkenny, Limerick, Tipperary, or Waterford.

This covers a number of possibilities: Hourihan(e), Hourahan, Horgan, Horrigan, Harrigan, Herrigan, Organ, Arragan, Orgain, Hourigan, Horan, Houren, Han(d)rahan, etc.

If you think you qualify, message me with your email and I will provide further details. We are especially interested in families with a history of variation between Horohan and Horan.  If you have a family history from Carlow, etc, message me anyway!
