Looking to discuss McClister/McLister as well as McCleister, McLeister, McLester, etc. family lines to see how we are connected in Ireland.  My great-great grandfather Hugh A. McClister was born in Ireland 27 April 1832.  His father was William and mother Ann.  I did locate a marriage entry from familysearch.org a William McLister and Ann Clarke had married 2 Aug 1831 in Ballymena, County Antrim.  William and Ann married just about 9 months before Hugh was born.  There are several McClister family lines here in the U.S. and if we are connected it will be from Ireland.

I have a McLister ancestor who left Larne, Antrim, Ireland in 1819 for the U.S.    I do not know if James and Ann McLister were born in Antrim or elsewhere, but they and 3 of their children (John, Margaret, and Alexander) sailed from Larne, leaving son Abraham behind.   They arrived in South Carolina and lived in Chester County until about 1850 when they moved to Tipton County, Tennessee.   I know that father James McLister died in 1865 in Tipton County TN, but have no record of death of wife Ann.  Each of the children died in Tipton County TN.  John died in 1861; Margaret in 1863; and Alexander (b.1791) died in 1865.   Alexander married Mary Chisolm in South Carolina and had 3 children - James (1824-1912), Mary (1826-1887) and John (1835-aft 1920).     I have been trying for years to locate information on James and Ann and their children.  I am a descendant of Alexander and Mary McLister.
