I'm working on an Irish Certificate and I've learned so much! I'm researching surnames Roddy (Mayo/Roscommon), Morrisroe (Mayo), Carroll (Kildare/Dublin) and Ruxton (Offaly).

I have started working on Irish records in hopes to find out more about Ireland and my Bell, Fleming, McCaully, Pringle and Whiteside families who emigrated to Canada. My lines were from Dublin, County KIngs, County Queens, and Northern Ireland (probably County Antrim). They emigrated between 1817 and abt, 1844.
I'll be starting intermediate work in Irish records soon. Is anyone here still in the program? I'm currently interested in South Tipperary and Lismore, Co. Waterford as well as poor law unions and how parish wardens were appointed.
i just joined I have been searching for the Rudds genealogy.for years my cousin was over there and he didn t find anything. But on vacation probably didn t spend a whole lot of time on research.
I am also in the Irish Studies. I am in between the Intermediate & Advanced classes. I have learned so much with NIGS.
Hi Judith,
It looks like we are the only two participating in this group - at least for now. I am just beginning Irish research and looking forward to learning a lot. I have only taken the Understanding course so far and found it invaluable background information for understanding lectures, books and blogs.
