Yes. Good idea, Brian. Take advantage of the current 10% off packages! We are excited that Melanie will be working to complete the outstanding Italian courses for the certificate. :)

Thanks Cheryl and welcome Melanie. I look forward to any new Italian courses you can arrange as they may help me with a brick wall I have for a Fillipo Rossini born somewhere in Como in 1795. My advice a few years ago was to spend three years in Como going through about 400 parishes if I couldn’t identify the village he lived in. He migrated to Scotland in the 1810s and married Martha Abercrombie in 1819. He died in Gartnaval Mental Asylum in 1849 after being diagnosed as mentally insane. I now have copies of his medical case records which show he was simply an epileptic having mainly grand Mal seizures. Today he would simply get a tablet or two.
maybe Cheryl I should buy a 4 course package with the current discount if Melanie is likely to have any new courses up and running in the near future?
Cheers
Brian

Hi Cheryl
Thanks for the comment and yes the female ancestry Course is helping me more than I expected.
Brian
Hello Brian.
I am glad you are enjoying the Researching Women course. It was one of my favourites. :)
Unfortunately, we do not have any new Italian (or Scottish) courses to add at this time. We will post a notice for new courses as they become available.
We have been focusing our attention on updating our website, which is very exciting and we are anxious to launch it! There will be many new features to explore. :)

I must admit that I am surprised, given my understanding of the migration of Italian people to the USA, that there is not available all courses for the Italian certificate. Given my Italian ancestry through my parternal grandmother I know I am waiting patiently to have the chance of learning more about Italian records.
Yes, I have similar feelings about Scottish courses although I have found other sources including a cousin and her mother, Strathclyde University and another source for similar courses.
Currently enjoying the course on female ancestry and learning much about researching my female ancestors.

Research A-Z ~ Italian
Italian Records courses and packages offered by The National Institute for Genealogical Studies. Additional courses are under development. Blog Post: http://blog.genealogicalstudies.com/2022/04/research-a-z-italian/
I have a brick wall in about 1795 with Antonio Rossini born in Como who migrated to Scotland and married in 1819. I am trying to find his parents but not sure if he was born in Como the city or Como the Provence. An Italian genealogist has advised that unless I can locate a village where he was born I may have to visit over 400 parishes taking about three years.
