Ciao!

I am researching Sicily, the home of 3 of my wonderful immigrant grandparents:

My maternal grandmother: Anna SALANITRO, born 8 April 1889 in San Fratello, Province of Messina, Sicily
Parents: Eloisa LATTERI and Alfio SALANITRO

My maternal grandfather: Giuseppe RIZZO, born 10 August 1886 in Bronte, Province of Catania, Sicily
Parents: Anna MAGALIA and Ignazio RIZZO

My paternal grandmother: Julia MAGRI, born 10 May 1889 in Palermo, Province of Palermo, Sicily
Parents: Vincenza D'ANNA and Baldasarre MAGRI

If anyone is also researching these areas or find these surnames familiar, please contact me!

Regards,
Linda J. Barnes
Can you add Lentini Sicily?
Tina, Lentini is a town in the province of Syracuse. If you'll read above, I just have the provinces listed for each region, not towns.
I am researching my family roots from Sicily. My parents, still with us, are from the Siracusa region a town called Priolo. Our surname is LICINI and my mother's maiden name is CALVO. We currently live in Toronto, Canada. Now, that I have my own family I want to be able to trace my entire family for them some day.

If there is anyone that has any possible links and or informaiton I would love to talk about it.

Ciao

Hello there,

I know this is a very old post but I am new to Genealogy Wise and am scanning through posts.  I am a professional genealogist specializing in Italian and French genealogy.  I am based in Salt Lake City, UT where records for Sicily have been microfilmed (typically between 1820 and 1929, but it depends on the town).  If there is anything I can help you with, please feel free to message me.

Thanks so much and I look forward to hearing from you.

My family is Sicilian and Arberesh and come from Palermo, Piana degli Albanesi (formerly Piana dei Greci), and S Cristina Gela. One branch (CIPPO) began in Prizzi before comming to S. Cristina. some of my surnames are MEZZANARES, CLEMENTI, CIPPO, MANDALA, BARBATO, PALERMO, FARINA, FILPI to name a few. My family came in to New Orleans and settled in Sacramento Ca. I have done extensive research in Piana and try to get there every chance I can, to visit cousins as well as do research and just immerse myself in the culture. here is my website if you might be related or if you are researching in my comunes please don't hesitate to contact me. I am looking to get information for my family back before 1750 or so. I can help others with more recent records.

I am trying to get more info on my great-grandfather Antonio C Puma, DOB April 4, 1884. He came to New York in 1907 from Palermo by way of the Campania. Do you know where I can find more info on his whereabouts or life in Sicily? Thanks for any help anyone can offer! Please feel free to comment me if you have any questions! :-D

Hi Samantha,

I am new to the group and wanted to introduce myself.  I am a professional genealogist based in Salt Lake City, UT specializing in Italian and French (as well as others) research and I believe I can help you with your great grandfather.  I located his immigration records which lists his birthplace as Vita, Trapani, Sicily.  I have access to microfilmed birth, marriage and death records for Vita ranging between 1822 and 1899 so there is quite a bit that can be done on his family.

If you are interested in using my services, please take a look at my website and let me know what I can do for you and your Italian family.

Thanks so much and I look forward to hearing from you,

Robin Peterson

Looking for Squatritos, Vermiglias, LaMantias, Modicas, and Liparis in Palermo.
Antonino Squatrito married Rosalia Vermiglia in Monreale, Palermo in the late 1890's. His parents, Giuseppe Sqatrito and Giovanna Lipari were married around middle 1850's in Monreale. Giuseppe's parents were Rosario Squatrito and Annamaria Modica.
Giovanna Lipari's parents were Antonino Lipari and Carmela LaMantia. Any help on birth dates, marriage dates, death dates or ancestry will be appreciated.
Thanks, Peter
