Reva Brumley, 74, died Tuesday, at St. Joseph Joseph Hospital. A native of Clay Co., she was the daughter of Robert Harris and Prescia Murphy. She was born July 8, 1926 and was a homemaker. She is survivied by 7 children, Barbara Kiniry of Lexington, William Brumley of Nicholasville, Sandra Collins of Lexington, Henrietta Bertram of Park City, Ky., Felica Willis of Nicholasville, Tammy Power of Nicholasville. 23 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 3 sisters and 2 brothers, Geneva Strong, Jeanetta Maples, Betty Caudell, JC Harris, Robert "Bud" Harris. She was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Brumley and one daughter Dottie Sue Wilds. Funeral services were held at 1 pm on Friday at Betts and West Funeral Home. Burial followed at Maple Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers wer Richie Kiniry, Greg Brumley, Bobbie Luttrell, Scott Willis, Mike Luttrell, Kenneth Brumley. Lovie E. Brumfield Craig, 81, of Garden Springs Drive in Lexington, wife of the late William E. Craig, died Saturday at Heartland Health Care in Lexington. A native of Jessamine County, she was a daughter of the late Buford and Sarah Sanders Brumfield. She was a homemaker and a member of the Providence Christian Church. Survivors include four sisters, Mildred Walker of Nicholasville, Meredith Owens of Jessamine County, Carmen Shawler of Nelson County and Ann Glass of Scott County; two brothers, W.T. Brumfield of Nicholasville and Oakley Brumfield of Kenton County; a stepsister, Neva Allison of Dayton, Ohio; a half-sister, Susie Parsons of Nicholasville; a special friend, Doris Willis of Lexington; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Merritt and Moss Brumfield, and a sister, Ruby Brumfield Hager. Visitation was Monday, March 31, from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, April 1, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jerry Johns and the Rev. Hugh Delaney officiating. Burial followed in the Versailles Cemetery.
Mrs. Ruby Brumfield Hager, of Cox's Creek Route 1, Nelson County, formerly of Nicholasville, was killed instantly Friday, Feb. 23 (1962) when the car she was driving collided with a truck on US 31-E six miles north of Bardstown. Mrs. Hager was a native of Jessamine County, the daughter of Mrs. Sarah Sanders Brumfield, and the late Buford Brumfield. Besides her husband (Buford Hager) and mother, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Bill Breeding, of Versailles and Mrs. Douglas Brown, of Danville; five sisters, Mrs. Otho Walker, Mrs. Bill Shawler and Mrs. Elwood Owens, all of Jessamine County; Mrs. Lovie Craig, of Lexington and Mrs. Bill Ray Glass, of Georgetown; three brothers, Fire Chief Walter Brumfield, Nicholasville; Meredith Brumfield, Oakle Brumfield of Erlandger, and two grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Bardstown Christian Church. Burial was in the Bardstown Cemetery. The body was at the Mann, Greenwell and Arnold Funeral Home until time for the services.
