Agnes Mae Teater Peel, 94, widow of Jordan J. Peel, died Nov. 17, 2000. The daughter of the late Haze and Mary Jane Burgin Teater. She was a member of the Jess. Co. Sr. Citizens, Homemakers, and the Church of the Nazarene. She is survived by 3 sons and their wives, Russell and Betty Peel, Chester R. and Joyce Peel, Hoover and Mary Ella Peel, all of Nicholasville; daughter in law, Maydean Peel of Nicholasville; 14 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren. Preceded in death by 3 children, Huston "Tince", Jord Jr., Vernard Cook Peel. Funeral services were held at Betts and West with the Rev. David Rosoc and the Rev. Don Reed officiating. Burial followed at Maple Grove Cemetery. Bearers were David, Doodle, Jeff, Lois, Eddie Peel, Johnathan Wallace, Josh and Seth Mulcahy.

NICHOLASVILLE - Ruth Peel Lowry, 73, of Hickory Hill died Mon, Dec 7, 2009, at St. Joseph Hospital. A native of Jessamine County she was born Dec 15, 1935, to the late Calvin B. and Eliza Wade Peel. She was a graduate of Nicholasville High School. She was a member of the Little Hickman Christian Church, but had attended Sulphur Well Christian Church for many years. Ruth had a passion for yard sales where she searched for flowers to arrange. She is survived by her devoted husband of 50 years, Alvin Lowry, 2 sons, David Lowry, Nicholasville and Mark Lowry, Georgetown, sisters, Geneva Hill and Betty Burton, granddaughter, Amber Lynn Lowry and grandson, Hunter Wade Lowry. Services will be 10am Thu, Dec 10, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with Rev. Dale Hunt officiating, burial in Maple Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ronald and Donald Anderson, Bob Lowry, Richard Lowry, Harold Hill, and Hunter Lowry. Honorary bearers will be Frank and Vivian Guthrie, Peter and Cheryl Wipf, Skip Graf, Charlotte Willhoite, Jim Butler, Henrietta McDermett, Grace Chasteen, Viley Wade, Larry and Carol Miller, Bob Woolums, Don Johnson, Jerry and Jo Brooking, and Elaine Young. Visitation will be from 4-8pm at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home. Donations may be made in her memory to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
