I believe its Stamford, England. I get the Johnson surname a couple of ways, through my Grandmother and through my Grandfather. On my Grandmother's I can go back to, I believe its Stamford, England where a couple of my ancestors were Mayor of that city. On my Grandfather's side, I've come to a Brick wall at my 4th Great Grandfather, James Johnson Sr.
