"Keeping up with the Jones"

Hello, currently trying to do genealogy with welsh records, because most of my Jones' originated there. So far they seem to have migrated from Penegoes, Montgomeryshire, Wales (North) and Wales. To Iowa.  Some via Ohio. Anybody that has had luck in the 1700's let me know.  Thanks,
