During my research I have found a few Kenneys in Fauquier County. I was just wondering if anyone has any Kenneys from that area. My ancestor John Kenney and his wife Alice came from Ireland and lived in Fauquier for a time, I assume to be near family. They later moved to Washington DC. Any info would be great.

Jerry do you have any info on Herman Wesley Kenney line. He was born in Fauquier County 11 Dec 1894 and is my 2cd great grandfather. I think he went to DC area also. Thanks - Crystal
Hello Crystal !
So nice to meet another member of the Kenney Clan! I did a little research for you and came up withh a few interesting items! Boy was it tough! LOL! You may already have this info but this is what I found...
Herman Wesley Kenney b. Dec. 11, 1894 d. March 19, 1958... married to
Edna M. Kenney b. May 13, 1894 d. Sept 21, 1970 (both buried in Neelsville Presbyterian Church Cemetery, MD)
I also checked the 1910 Census Records for Fairfax County and came up with the following info.,,
Father: William Y. (? not sure if thats correct) Kenney age 38 (so born circa 1872)
Mother: Berther A. Kenney age 37
Children: Herman W. Kenney age 15
Sybl Kenney age 12
My Great Grandfather was William Disen Kenney born in 1842 in and was with the 43rd Battalion Virginia Calvary
(Mosby's Rangers) during the War between the States and he had a son named William born in 1871 (all my family came from Fauquier County, Virginia.. so this William might be Hermans father but Im not sure. please send me your personal e-mail address and I will send you a copy of what I have. Hope this helps some.

Jerry,
Sorry I didn't reply last year. My research is off and on at best. I would love to see more of your information. I just recently went to the library and found 3 relatives in the Fauquier birth records index. I am biding my time until I can see the actual microfilms of the records. My GGGrandfather John Kenney, married Allice Burke in Ireland, came here and is listed in the 1880 Census in Center district of Fauquier. The family is later found in Washington DC in 1900 and on. This is where my grandfather Michael Kenney was born, and my Father as well.
I am unsure why my GGF decided to live in Fauquier, but I was guessing that he may of had family in the area.
I am also unsure why they moved to DC.
Interesting item... I now live in Fauquier County with my family, possible 10 minutes from where my GGF lived.
I need to find the time to do some local research and really dig into it.
Anyway, thanks for any info you can send
I will send you an email with some contact info.
