Searching for information about my PERKINS family from Harlan and Perry county KY and Lee Co. VA
my web page is http://wmdangilbert.web.officelive.com/perkins.aspx
1. Amos J. Perkins b. ca 1815-23 [[1870 census shows b 1815-16; 1850 census puts birth at 1823], m Elizabeth (Pierce ?, Eckler?), B. 1829-33 in Virginia [1850 census birth 1829-30; 1870 census would put b. ca 1832-33] Amos was a tailor in the 1860 US Census
2.i. Nancy, 13 b. ca. 1829-1837; [also does not appear in 1860 this household, probably married, as she would be 23 in 1860
Interestingly, if Amos was born ca. 1815 this Nancy would be born when Amos was about 22 yr old, however if it is correct that Elizabeth earliest birth was 1829, then Elizabeth would be only 8 yr old at Nancy’s birth. [Dan Gilbert assumes this Nancy is Amos’ daughter from a previous marriage.]
