Powell's from Bell, Clay, and Knox counties in Ky

I have an Elijah Powell in my hubby's line. He was born about 1790 and lived in Clay County Kentucky at one time.
He was listed as a Mulatto (Melungeon) in court records. The book I found at the Indiana State Library of Clay County Court Records states: Elijah Powell refuses to pay taxes because he is not allowed to vote. Good for him!!!
His wife was Caty-from a property transfer in Clay Co, Ky.
Their children: Mary (John Hollingsworth) Nancy (Stephen Reed), Rachel(John Percifield), John (Susannah Cooper), Martha/Patsy (Perry Hollingsworth) , and Delitha. Delitha is my husband's line. Delitha married William Collins Jan 26, 1832 in Clay Co, KY. Their family is also listed as Mulattos on census records.
Their children are Alfred, Anderson, Nancy, Patsy, John Marshall, Martha, Ellisha, Jesse, Thourson, Sally A. Perry, Joel (Hubby's line) and William Collins.
I have never been able to find a place of birth or death for Elijah. I came across the name of Levi before and "guessed" that he and Elijah are probably related.
