I have a Schmidt family who lived in Paducah, Kentucky from the time of their marriage in 1852 until they can to California in 1874. When my great uncle did work on this family he sourced the birth information of the children as the "Catholic Records Center". Is anyone aware of this repository? I haven't been able to come up with anything close through internet searches or reference books. I would have expected the records to have been in a Diocese. Thanks.
I am researching the Rice family in Lawrence Co and Carter Co Ky, I am trying to locate the Parents of William C Rice b. abt 1828 in Ky married to Mary Polly Osburn. I am so trying find information on Robert Weaver and Mary Blythe Weaver their daughter Mary A Weaver married David A Bryant Lawrence Co Ky, their other daughter Catherine Weaver went to marry Anderson Rice son of Robert Rice. I am trying to Connect Robert to William since all three families lived close to each other in 1870s.
Looking for information on "Moore" family in Kitts or Harlan Co. Kentucky. Matt and Winnie Moore were my Grandparents, information on them is scarce. I hear its due to all the flooding and lost records as to the reason its hard to get information on anyone from this area.
My family names from KY are: Irvin, Proffitt, Isenberg all in the Monroe, Barren area. I am particularly looking for death-burial information on Dory Irvin, male, living in poor house in 1870 Monroe. All help is appreciated.
Virginia, my husband has alot of Barkers, Stevens/Stephens and Blevins in them. They are from Elliott, Carter, Rowan and Boyd Counties in KY. Older ones come from North Carolina. Maybe we can help each other. Have about decided to try and go the route of the Barkers for husband and son's Sons of American Revolution since we hit a brick wall in trying to find documentation needed for the Blevins. Good Luck.
Update on my research of my Hale line.
A before unknown cousin was located who is the great granddaughter of Henry Hale a brother to John Hale, my great grandfather. She stated that her mother (Mary Quinn) always told her and her brother they were not really Hale. They were AKERS. Her mother told them an Aker was adopted either by Henry Hale or his father John Hale, my great great grandfather.
Would any one know of any Acker/Aker/Akers that was taken in by a Hale family? Thanks for any help.
John Hale
I'm researching mainly in Graves & Hickman counties: Holland, Clark, Morgan, Midyett/Midgett. I'd love to hear from anyone with these connections in the area.
Thinking about KY mysteries,
we have 2 ELDER DNA kits which match the MAINE DNA
group, but are found in Madison Co KY - they listed the wrong ELDER ancestors, so we now need to find their MAINE connection.
Here's one:
