Apparently I'm the only one.....and that can't be possible! I run into Koster families in Indiana frequently, but the one I'm looking for settled in Buffalo, NY, upon arrival from Germany, and presumably died there as well.
More details:
Anton Koster (b March 1852 in Germany, d after 1910 in the US) married Applonia Rabe (b April 1854 in Germany, d after 1910 in the US). They had at least four children, Anna (1881-1983) who married Paul Knabe, Theresa M. (1884-1964) who married John Neumann, Elisebeth (b April 1893, died after 1910), and one unknown. There may have also been another daughter Anna, born 1891. The family appears in the 1900 census, at 220 Goodell Street in Buffalo, having immigrated to the US in 1891. They are listed at 222 Goodell Street in 1910, but I cannot locate them after that. I presume that both Anton/Anthony and Applonia died between 1910 and 1920, and that the girls were married and would have had different last names by then.
Word of mouth indicates that one of Applonia's sisters had a daughter named Annie Rabe who was blind. My mother remembers her as being alive in the 1950's.
Theresa Koster and John Neumann are my great-grandparents; I know little about them and less about Theresa's parents.
