The Krebs family of Nieder-Wichtrach and Oppligen - Switzerland

Wichtrach, Canton of Bern, Switzerland is located in the "Aaretal", the valley of the Aare-River, between the Swiss capitol Bern and the City of Thun. Oppligen is only two miles away.

We traced our ancestors back until the year 1578, the year of the wedding of Hans Kräpps and Vrena Koler, the first documented wedding of the Krebs families of Nieder-Wichtrach and Oppligen! The Krebs of Oppligen are two lines of the Krebs family of Niederwichtrach. They moved about 1680 and 1750 to Oppligen. All living Krebs (of Nieder-Wichtrach & Oppligen) arround the World, are descendents of this couple.

Krebs of Nieder-Wichtrach and Oppligen live today in Switzerland, Germany, France, the USA, Canada and probably in Argentina.
