i have a friend who has a Katie Laughlin for a mother..she emigrated from Motherwell around 1940 to Calgary Alberta has a brother peter in st catherines ontario..if you are interested i can give you the e mail of katie's grandson

My McLaughlin's ended up primarily in Marshall and Peoria counties in Illinois (although some of us made it to California). My grandmother was Alice Wilda McLaughlin (1913 - 1967) daughter of Clifford Clyde McLaughlin (1882 - 1956) & Emily Phoebe Clifton. His parents were George Washington McLaughlin (1850 - 1896) & Relief Elizabeth Bonham. George was the son of Samuel Best McLaughlin (1813 - 1887) & Rachel Hammett.
