Michiell Or Michael Oliver Laughlin born in Northern Ireland Died bef 1900 in Missouri

Okay, My great great grandfather Michiell Oliver Laughlin is driving me crazy. This is what I know

The Michiell could be his given name but I don't know if he had a nickname of Mike or Mitch or something. I am not sure what Michiell is short for in Irish. NOTE: On his wife's death certificate it says husband's name was Micheal. On his son George's death certificate, father is listed as Mack Laughlin.

I have no birth date. He died before the 1900 census in Missouri. According to a record of one of his son's census, he was born in Northern Ireland.

So I am curious to see if he might be a Laughlin, McLauglin, MacLaughlin, O Laughlin.. yikes.


He married Amelia Ellen Riley according to her obituary on 2 June 1880. She is on the 1880 census with her parents William Wyckoff Riley and Mary Ann Sharp Riley as single on the census that was enumerated on 16 Jun 1880. They were in Bogart, Carroll, Missouri.

Mitchell Oliver Laughlin and Ellen were the parents of six.
