I am related to James Madison Lawson and Susanna Knox through Matilda Lawson.

I have a family blog located at http://checkhereforyoursurname.blogspot.com/ with some info I have found.

I found the following marriage license at anscestry.com it was dated 04 Apr 1839 McMinn County, Tennessee..

Let me know what you think for I too have been told that they were married in Indiana or Alabama.

I also included a picture of James's tombstone (located in Jim Matt Lawson Cemetery, Maries County, Missouri) I took it in June 2008.

Hi, Julie

It is good to hear from you. I'm thrilled to see the marriage record. The location would explain why I've not come across it before. Thank you for uploading it here.
