I am researching my Hamilton family. So far I have Gggggggrandfather. I am looking to go further back. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
1. James Hamilton born 1729 in Monaghan, Ireland married Catherine (last name unknown).He came to Rockbridge, Virginia in or around 1750.
2. William Hamilton born 1755 in Rockbridge, Va. died 1825. He married in 1775 Elizabeth Mc Ferrin born 1757 died 1820.
3. Alexander Hamilton Sr. born 1779 died 1852 married in 1796 to Susannah Adamson.
4. Alexander Hamilton Jr. married 1830 to Cassandra Jane Lay.
5. John Alvis Hamilton married Mary "Polly" Yadon
6. Tilman Hamilton married Eldora McPhetridge.
7. Brady Wheeler Hamilton married Annie Duignan
8. Edgar Lafayette Hamilton born 1921 still living 2012.
Any help with James Hamilton's parents would be appreciated.
Most of our family is in Union County Tennessee….some went to Missouri & Kentucky.

My grandmother was Amanda Lay of Scott/Campbell Co. TN. She was the daughter of Henry Lay and Parazidia Smith Lay. Amanda was born in 1876 and I would like to find some info on her siblings and their family members.
