Most Lederers emigrated from Europe to America in the 19th century.My family was Jewish,but there were Christian Lederers in the U.S. as well.

My MT dna haplogroup is "T2".
My gg grandmother Margaretha was born February 8, 1849 and died October 4, 1926.
There are some Lederer's of Geradstetten, Wurtemberg, Germany.
Simon Lederer -a judge b 1609 d 1659.
Johannes Lederer- a mayor, b 1728 d 1742
Johann Simon Lederer - a mayor b 1700 d 1775
Johan Frederich Lederer - a mayor b 1738 d 1815
Karl Gottlieb Lederer - a vine grower b 1782 d 1869
wife= Anna Margaretha Schoal b 1786 d 1865
Joseph Leder - Private Civil War Vet Company G/44th Infantry from Whitewater, WI 1/7/1865 -died of disease in Paducah, KY Aug 1/1865.
The only Lederer that I am certain of is my gg grandmother Margaretha Lederer of Mequon, Wisconsin.
The others are ones that I found doing searches.

My great, great grandmother is Margaretha Lederer-Otto. Otto is her husbands name. I am still not certain who her father is. I think he might have been Michael Lederer. She lived in Mequon, Wisconsin and is buried at St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery on Mequon & Port Washington Roads.
