When I chart a couple whose great grandfathers were brothers, their parents (a single couple) show up twice on my charts.  I have double checked all entries.  The parents are the same record for each brother. It also prints the previous 5 generations twice.

How do I fix this so the line combines into one at the great-great grandparents point?

Jean, what type report are you doing and are you using Legacy Charting, if so which Chart? If it is an Ancestry Chart, how are you creating one for two people?
I am printing a standard hour glass chart and this couple is 4 generations back. Legacy tech support said there was no way to merge the line and not show duplicates in this situation. I am now in search of software that will
I do not know of any software which which will do as you suggest, and frankly I think it would be torturous to write. Strictly speaking the the output you suggest would be incorrect as well.
Hello Jean,

As usual Charting Companion for Legacy does this better than Legacy Charting. The duplicated parents are shown twice but are hatched to emphasize that they are repeated. The generations before the duplicated ones are only shown once.
