I wonder if anyone could help with this problem. I have downloaded all of the SSDI records for my family name "Gittens" into an excel spreadsheet and thereafter created a GEDCOM to import this data into legacy. The gedcom import worked really well with one exception. The SSN data did not import and the 2 NOTE record which follows the SSN attribute in the gedcom was not recognized by the import program. Here is an example of my gecom for a single individual.

I just found the solution to the problem which was a syntax error.....to add a SSN record you must have the following (Bolded section) in the GEDCOM.
