Sources for names

I have been a Legacy user for years, but have just recently watched the Learn Legacy DVDs. In the examples for sourcing, every source is used to source the name. Can this be correct? It seems that you could end up with pages and pages of sources just for a person's name. And yet, if you wanted to be thorough, this makes sense, sort of. 

I am just wondering how other folks handle this!
