Have any Lewis members used DNA analysis to further their Lewis surname genealogy? If so, how did it help your research?

Hello Damita.
I am not sure the Henry Lewis line does connect to the Warner-Lewis line.
I have Henry Lewis Sr., (abt 1700 -1785, married Martha Kendall, and lived in Spotsylvania County, Virginia as parents of Henry Lewis, who married Ann Buford. Documents in Spotsylvania County indicate there was a Henry Lewis Sr..
Other researchers say Henry Sr. was born 1699, Christ Church, Middlesex, Virginia, but I have not seen that document. There is a claim that Henry's father was Henry Lewis, b. 1668, Lancaster County, Virginia. I have seen no documents supporting this claim.
Hello all does anyone know how Henry Lewis (my 4th gGrandfather) b. 1724 VA md. Anne Buford and this line of Lewis' are connected to the Warner Hall Lewis'? someone had sent me something on email stating this but I'm just starting my research so I'm seeking any help of my Lewis line and family history. I'm looking forward to connecting and meeting more of my family on here.
I have just scratched the surface of my Lewis line:
John LEWIS (b. c1755 - d. 1822) m. Elizabeth (unk) (b. c1757 - d. 1872). As of 1820 they were in Mill Creek, Hamilton, Ohio.
Children:
1. Elizabeth LEWIS (b. c1790 Ireland - d. aft.1860) m. Anthony HERRINGTON (b. c1797 - d. 1831). They are my g-g-g-grandparents They lived in Mill Creek, Hamilton, Ohio. Elizabeth moved to Belle Prairie, Livingston, Illinois sometime after 1850 and lived with her son Robert B. HARRINGTON.
2. Robert LEWIS
3. John LEWIS
4.Mary LEWIS ( -1854) m. Daniel TITUS
5.Louise/Lewis LEWIS
As you can tell, I have a lot to learn about them.
Hello Michael,
Besides having Lewis in Virginia, I have a direct line to Thomas Lodowyck Lewis /Lewes born about 1628, unknown place. He married Geesje Barents abt 1661 in Albany, New York. He was a mariner from around New Amsterdam. I have been wondering if he was a son of Edmond Lewes. I descend from Thomas' daughter, Catherina, who married Laurens / Lawrence Thomaszen Popinga (Parrot in Dutch). I have information on related people. Descendants of Thomas Lewis in my line migrated to New Jersey, and very many years later they were in Iowa, Nebraska, and Kansas. I have thought Thomas Lewis was a dissenter in his religious views, but his wife and family were members of the Reformed Dutch Church. One of his children married in the French Church. I do not believe he was Welsh. I do not believe he was Irish, as I have seen mentioned. Thomas' son, also named Thomas was also a mariner. He signed on with the privateer / pirate Tew.
Hi Deb:
As you'll notice I responded to your posts about Edmond Lewes below. Much of what you wrote is confirmed in my research, except the Welsh origin and connection with the Warner Hall Lewis's. The Lewis line descending from Edmond Lewes of Lynn, Massachusetts is completely different from the line that led to the Warner Hall Lewis line.
Hello Deb:
One must be very careful about finding people with the name of one of one's ancestors and assuming they are the same person. Information on web sites such as Ancestry and FamilySearch is often not well researched and verified through documentation. I've been researching Edmond Lewes of Lynn, Massachusetts for over ten years.
Edmond Lewes is my 11th Great Grandfather. He and his family came to Watertown, Massachusetts, in 1634, on the ship Elizabeth, out of Ipswich, Suffolk, England. He lived in Watertown until 1639, then moved to Lynn, where he had a farm at Woods End, near the border of what is now Swampscott.
This Edmond Lewes is not the ancestor of the Warner Hall Lewises, nor did he come from Wales. He parents are unknown, but I have traced all Lewis/Lewes families in Suffolk, England and I am certain that Edmond Lewes was from a Lewes family of Stoke-by-Nayland, Suffolk that descend from Ludovick John or Lewis ap John of London in the 15th Century. Ludovick John's descendants were initially recorded as FitzLewes, meaning son of Lewes, which became Lewes in Suffolk.
Edmond Lewes's eldest son John was baptized in St. Mary le Tower Church in Ipswich July 18, 1630. Edmond was granted Freeman status in Ipswich in 1632.
There is no evidence that Edmond Lewes of Lynn, Massachusetts was born in Wales. This comes from the book, Lewis Families of Wales and America, 1928, by Edward Simmons Lewis, in which the author speculated that Edmond Lewes of Lynn was the same person as Edmond Lewis of Llystalybont, Glamorgan, Wales in the absence of any evidence to support the claim.
Edmond Lewes died in Lynn, Massachusetts in 1651 and his wife Mary died there in 1658. There burial places are unknown. Edmond's son John stayed in Lynn and inherited the farm at Woods End. I am descended from Edmond's second son Thomas, who moved to the Bristol Rhode Island area. My descent is through the Lewis families of New Jersey, Ohio, Iowa, Missouri and Nebraska.
Edmond/Edmund was a popular name in the 17th Century and there are many Edmond/Edmund Lewes/Lewis names in the genealogical literature. It is critical to follow one's ancestry through documentation in order to sort them all out.
