Hello,
I am trying to find the birth of Thomas Alexander HUNTER about 1868 - he is thought to have come from London?
Thanks,
Linda

Hello Linda

FreeBMD (www.freebmd.org.uk) has no match for a Thomas Alexander in the right time frame in the London area. There is one Thomas HUNTER registered in Poplar in the third quarter of 1868, but you haven't given us much to go on! Is there anything else you could tell us about this chap that might help to identify him in the census?

Best wishes

Caroline
Dear Caroline,
Thank you for your reply. Thomas Alexander Hunter turned up in Alberta in 1898 born England Sep 1868. I found a history written by his daughter to say that he came from London. I know this doesn't mean that he was born in London. I have been through the freebmd and followed the Thomas's that seemed to fit but they either died or showed up on the 1901 census. Family stories say that his father was John and that he had a sister Elizabeth Jane who may have gone to Australia. Maybe the whole family left when he was quite young and went to either Australia or the US then went onto Canada.
I will keep searching,
Linda
