Will Do Massachusetts Lookups, plus some census,,Ancestry, and NEHGS as well
I can do lookups for most Massachusetts towns bef 1850, thought the records of Boston city proper are lacking in this collection, and are often earlier on in the 1700s for the most part.
If i go to the library, then I can do lookups on the NEHGS (New England Historic and Genealogical Society), which includes records up to 1910, plus some birth and marriage to 1915, plus alot of other databases that i've yet to tap into. I usually go once or twice a week to my local branch.
I can access Ancestry Library edition as well, though the search feature doesnt seem to be as effective on this version, so the more info you give me the better.
Also, HeritageQuest online, for census and Persi and such. The census on this site usually indexes the heads only, though Ancestry Library helps pick up the slack.
Also through BPL online, i can access some historic newpapers and obits. i think mostly late 1800s-1900s, though I'de have to look up which it is. I believe the NY Times in there as well.
I own the book The Old Families of Salisbury and Amesbury. A very big book with good genealogies. not always completely accurate for some families, once theyve left the area, but still a good place to start. this is a few volumes plus corrections, bound into one big book.
I also can access alot of books from the book delivery at BPL in Boston, as well as obits and such on microfilm. These i can't do as often, as I don't always have the train fare to get there (disabled, little income lol).
I'm in the Revere/Lynn/Everett area, so when it's nice out, I can usually get to the cemetery for photos and such (i'm a FindAGrave volunteer as well)

Hello Allyssa I`am researching George Walker from Amesbury Ma .Of Walker-Wells carriage makers. He died 27 March 1919.in Amesbury.Would his name be in The Old Families of Salisbury and Amesbury book?Did he have a WILL?I live in Scotland

I have some Amesbury Wells in my tree. They intersect with a number of my Amesbury families (i started to just study the whole city after a while. eventually most intersect.). This book however is early, most lines in here end by mid 1800s, late 1800s at the latest.The Wells included only go up to the late 1700s from the quick looks of it. So, your George's ancestors are likely the ones in here, but he's not included.
Are you seeking his birth? or something else specific. let me know what you already know, and what you still need to know, and maybe I can find something else that might help. Maybe even an obit. I'm not sure when i'm next going into town. but when I do, i could try to look for an obit in an area paper. I don't know the local ones there yet, but there is a huge selection from massachusetts newspapers, so it couldnt hurt to try. i found one George birth in Amesbury, thats it, born 1818
Unfortunately, Wills are not something i'm familiar with searching yet, so I won't be much help there. It'd prob be Essex County Courthouse that would be needed for that, i suppose. -

Hi My george Walker was born in Scotland 1845 died in Amesbury 27 march 1919.Seems he lived in the house next to Amesbury library.I am looking for his death cert details and if I can find if he had a WILL

i know where that is. It's a lovely area of Amesbury. I'm unable to get 1919 records at this time, at least not for free, unfortunately. I could go out to Amesbury, which is quite a ride, and try to get it from city hall, or i could go into boston to the vital records bureau. again, still not free. last i knew it was $9 an hour to get in there. athen if youd want a certified copy, itd cost like 10 for that. I wish I could do it, but I just don't have the budget right now for free lookups there. money is tight. :\
