These are photos from a photo album that belonged to the Curry family of Henderson County Illinois. Some of the individuals have been identified and some have not. The album is online at Picasa. My purpose in uploading the album photos is to share them with anyone who may have an interest and perhaps identify some of the unknowns.

JB - You might want to try uploading your photos through Picasa to their online web albums. That's very easy and quick to do - you can d/l Picasa for free, then you "mark" all the photos you want to put in an album, then you tell Picasa to u/l that album to the online web site.

Then you provide us with the link (make it a clickable link here in the Discussion Forum just as I did for the word "PICASA" above) and we can all view those wonderful photos. To make a clickable link, highlight the word or words you want to link to, and click on the icon second from the right in the task bar where you are writing your note for the Discussion Forum
Thanks for the guidance Lorine. The Curry Photo Album is online at Picasa.
What a beautiful album JB. You are lucky to own such a family treasure. May I link to the album from my Lost Faces website?
By all means Lorine. And thanks for the reminder. I've been meaning to check out Lost Faces.
OK, I still don't know what a CDV is??????????
Compact Disk Video?
You must have missed the Discussion I posted as the very first post in the Discussion Forum called TYPES OF EARLY PHOTOGRAPHS You can use the site search box to search for keywords, I think if you search CDV I have used it (I hope I have!) as a keyword (tagword) in relevant posts.

There's an explanation there of CDV (Carte de Visite)

Then you should read Hints for Dating Old Photos as it contains info on the clues for dating a CDV.

Follow the links in the discussion topic posts for more detail if you need it
I did miss it, thanks for the link. I get lost very quickly in forums. 50 years of linear thinking does not prepare one for the chaos of forums, blogs, IM and other newfangled information exchange formats :-)
It's easy to not find something, I wish there were some way of making it easier! It's too cumbersome to have to read, read and read, trying to find ONE thing!

The only help is the tag/keyword feature. As long as people posting add those search words, others can find what they want more easily
VERY interesting! I am inspired to learn more. Seems there are many fine details that may provide clues. Next time I visit my mother I will go exploring.
On the back fly leaf #101 before looking at the transcription I thought the first two words were Bark or Dark colored.
Carol, thanks for pointing this out! I am in 100% agreement with your observation. I did the transcription from the original and the ink blobs on the tail of the k in Dark and d in colored fooled me. It is pretty clear that they are ink blobs when the image is enlarged. You have corrected an error that has been around for years. I will update the transcription.
Regards, JB
