My grandfather Lucas was raised by Choctaws as he was orphaned when his parents died. He doesn't remember his parents. My grandfather's name was Alex Lucas and his brother was Frank Lucas (not sure about their middle names). He was raised in Southeastern Oklahoma I believe and has lived in Modesto, California for a number of years (my father was born there). Some of his family members said that they might have come from Kentucky. I noticed on this site that some people have mentioned Kentucky and Oklahoma.....what a coincedence.

Hi Krystal,

My grandfather and great grandfather were born in OK, and my great great grandfather John Francis Lucas/Lucus was born in Texas, and was supposedly part Choctaw, part Cherokee, and part ???. It is believed that his father (my great great great grandfather) was named Frank Lucas/Lucus, but some believe that his name as Francis Allen Lucas/Lucus and just went by Frank. We think that he was born around 1838 in Waco, TX, but he may have been born in Oklahoma. We don't know what his race was. We also know very little about his father. Some believe that his name was Allen, but we don't know where he was from... I am currently in the process of getting more facts to figure it out.
I wonder if we are related somewhere in all that confusion?
