My Martin brick wall is Thomas T. Martin b. 1790s in Va. married abt 1820 to Keziah/Kissiariah (unknown last name) b 1803 in SC. She was rumored to be full blooded Cherokee. Speculations are that he is descended from Brig General Joseph Martin. They relocated to Fort Smith Ark by 1820 and were first settlers there. Their children were born there and by 1838-9 they moved to Texas where he died in 1840s. If any of this makes connections with yours, I have some suppositions as well as some facts from them forward via their daugher Emaline Martin Morgan.

I am looking for information on John Martin and Thomas Martin, brothers who were married to Williams daughters of Daniel Williams. Daniel Williams was my GGGG Grandfather and he died in Newberry Co., SC 1825. His Will lists John Martin and wife and Thomas Martin and wife, but does not list their names. Hope to find some connections. Tina

Hi Friends,
My Martin ancestors came from Hall County, Georgia. There are several families here and in the surrounding counties who migrated from SC. We aren't sure "who" and "which" are related... To make it more interesting, my Susie Martin ancestor married a Jones!
Was wondering if anyone was related to the Martins of MO?

I have rather sketchy details regarding a Martin ancestor. "Brother R. Martin" was a Methodist minister in Key West, Florida from 1883-1885, so my grandmother told me. So far, I have not been able to find him. I assume he was Robert and have found a few Robert Martins to begin a search through. Does this ring a bell with anyone?
I got a little ahead of myself and jumped back into house chores. Here are a few of my earliest identified Martins. I am still working on verifying sources so this information is based on data passed down to me from a family member.
John Martin born 10 Oct 1778 in Virginia; married Sidney Whitley in Washington County ,Virginia on 4 Dec 1804 and died in Monroe County, Kentucky on 31 May 1846.
David Martin (father of above John) born 1742 in Virginia, married Hannah and died 26 Aug 1824 in Cumberland County, Kentucky.
William Martin (father of above David) born about 1722 in Virginia, Married Elizabeth Lochram on 3 May 1757 in Virginia and died 24 Oct 1776 in Albermarle County Virginia.
