Hi, my Martins are from Oklahoma and Texas via Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia and North Carolina. I am working on getting them across the water. Let me know if you think we might have a connection.

Hi there my Martins come from London but could have originally come from Ireland. I have hit a brick wall with my great grandmothers father. I can't find him anywhere before being married. If anyone has Martins from the London/Surrey area I would be interested in hearing from you.

My Martin family lived in Wilson County TN. James Martin married Mary Eason in 1825 in Wilson Co. His brother, Robert B. Martin married Cynthia Hagerty, Mary Eason's 1st cousin. Both Robert and James died in Wilson Co. sometime after 1870. James& Mary was the parents of Joseph Burton Martin. Mary died abt 1829. James married Harriet Hagerty, sister of Cynthia. They had 7 children. Lafayette, Mary, Lucy, James, John, Harriet and Madeline.
Hope to make a connection to other family members.

Hello m'dears,
The Martin family in our tree are from the Broadclyst / Cullompton area of Devon UK. The tree starts with Edward and his wife Wilmot, Edward died in1623. Going down to Emma Martin who married Robert Gibbins in 1866.

Hello Martin forum...I have a stumbling block very early into the MARTIN line. Carl Edward KELLEY b1892 Licking Co.,OH marr Eva Leona MARTIN b1894 Piqua, Miami Co.,OH My block is her father Hiram MARTIN I know he was living in Piqua during 1894 cuz thats when Eva was born. Eva's obit stated that the family moved to Newark,Licking Co.,OH and lived in the area for 28 years. The only census' I have on Eva is the 1900,1910 when she was living with her mothers mother.....her grandmother Sarah ALEXANDER. In 1917 she marr KELLEY, they lived in Piqua for abt 1-2 years then moved to Newark,Licking Co. OH Eva had been marr before KELLEY to a HARTLEY...nothing known abt him. If anyone can help me find some info on Hiram MARTIN it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I have 2 "brickwall" Martins! My Dad who was interested in his family tree, told me that his aunts said the two were cousins, but I have found errors in their information before, so make that possible cousins.

First is Edward B. Martin, born circa 1800, died 1824 Anson Co. NC. Married Sarah Blewett and was the father of Caroline Martin. He made a will mentioning a brother George who got a colt, and Nancy who got a clock. His father died shortly before Edward's death- there was property left to Edward from his father's unsettled estate. No mention of his Mother in the will, but that could be because she was already taken care of by his Father's will.

My second "brickwall" Martin is Ann Martin bc 1785 in South Carolina. She married Daniel Gilbert McNair of Georgia. And that's about all I know about her.

Anyone got anything on these possible cousins?

Greetings to all! My Martin line came to Massachusetts from England in the 1600's and remained in MA and RI. My great-grandmother, Jennie (Martin) Cook, who died in 1940, was a direct descendant of this family. I have been researching this line for a while, so if I can help, please let me know.

I realize this probably isn't true - since I have yet to find any evidence - but there was a family rumor that we were related to Richard Martin, the animal rights guy. Does anyone know anything about his lineage? I realize he didn't have any children (or I at least I'm pretty sure he didn't) but does anyone know anything about his siblings or cousins? It sure would be neat if we were related, especially since I'm such an animals rights person.

I'm researching Martins from Hawkins Co., Tennessee. My line migrated to Iowa.
