Hi Ralph,
I have you on my prayer list for your safe return to the homeland. Thanks for you service to our country. I am still putting all of the line together and trying to fill in some shady areas, but Thomas is in my family line as the father of John House. John was father to my great grand father Malcolm. Most of the family that I knew about when I was growing up were living in and around Lancaster KY and the Nicholasville area along the Kentucky river river valley. most were extensive farmers as I am told. There is a great chance that we are from the same Thomas House.

Hello Ralph,

Thanks for your service to our country. You be real careful there in Afghanistan and come home safe.

You can easly take the DNA test there. They will mail you 3 test tubes with swabs. You swab the inside of your cheek for 1 minute and place the swab in the tube and seal. You repeat this 3 times an hour or so apart and mail it back to FamilyTreeDNA. It takes a month to 6 weeks to get the results back.

I am 100% disabled veteran from service in Vietnam 1966-1967.

I have seen the HOUSE name in the local phone book, but never did get in touch with any of those listed. I am originally from MO, where my ancestors lived and died. My HOUSE name will die out, since I am an only child, and had no brothers to carry on the name. Too bad! I know that MICHAEL was a brother of my 3rd great grandfather ADAM, so we are related, but not through the THOMAS that I spoke of. It is nice to know that I am related to someone serving in Afghanistan.

I see you list Osprey Florida as your home. In the sixities and seventies my grandfather and a couple of his siblings all lived in Florida. In fact I was born in Ft. Myers myself. I remember as a child, speaking to a few relatives that still lived there that had the House name. I myself am the only grandchild from my grandfather that carries the House name. My father was an only boy, and I am his only son. My father does have five sisters and several of their children live in the Sarasota to Fort Myers area still today.

I don't think the Thomas you referred to is the same as the one I mentioned. My line goes back through Indiana and Ohio. My Father Ralph S. House, his father George W. House, grandfather Alvin Spencer House were all born in Indiana. Alvin's father Thomas Allen House was born in Ohio and moved to Indiana where he lvied the rest of his life. I remember speaking to my grand fathet and great uncle, and they both spoke of their grand father Thomas as a farmer in Indiana. One of Alvins brother's was Aurther Edward House. One of his grand daughters contacted me from this site and said that my line wenty from Thomas's to a William House, to Michael who was one of Matthias's son's.

I have two more months left on my tour here in Afghanistan, once I get back to the states, I would like to take the DNA test, that sounds interesting to see how they can match up the DNA back so far.

Hi All Cousins,

In case any male desendant carrying the name HOUSE of this line is interested in DNA testing. Duane House desendant of Jacob House and 1st wife Mathilda Ivey and myself desendant of Jacob House and second wife, Mary Bellar have taken DNA test at www.familytreedna.com. We were a perfect match at all 37 markers establishing we are both desendants of Jacob House, son of Adam, son of Matthias House.

We would like to find some other HOUSE males not from Jacob "Jake" House line to get DNA tested to prove we are all desendants of Matthias House

Dear Nacy House Barron,
I would love to have photos of the mantel and stair case in the House Home at House Hollow Farm. The young man renting the House home last year said we could come in and then suggested that we visit the cemetray first. We walked up to the cemetary and photographed many of the graves there and when we returned to the house he would not answer the door. I have photos of the cemetary and some of the Hebron Luthurn Chuch where the house family worshiped then. I have photos of my Brother Barry Gill House playing the original organ in that church. This is the organ that Matthias Jr's. son and two other youg men brought across the country behind a drew of oxen. Church records state that it took 3 months to make that trip. I will share my photos with anyone interested.

It was reported by the then renter (in October 2008) that the House Hollow Farm (now only 20 acres) was sold to a man in Kentucky for $500,000.

Yes, I too would like to see the mantle. When my family and I went to House Hollow, no one was there, but if they would not allow Louis access, good chance we would have been denied as well.
