Peter James McClymer, son of Peter McClimon and Bridget Cunningham, was born in 1878 in Dunmore, Lackawanna, Pennsylvania, and died in 1943 in Brooklyn, Kings, New York. He married Elizabeth C Ford, daughter of James Ford and Bridget Farrell, in 1903 in Minooka, Lackawanna, Pennsylvania. She was born c1881 in Pittston or Avoca, Luzerne, Pennsylvania and died in 1919 in Dunmore.
According to her death certificate, Elizabeth died from the effects of childbirth, possibly magnified by the flu epidemic raging about her. She left a husband and seven children, ranging in age from 15 years to two weeks. Only two, Frank, 15, and Mary, 7, remained with their father. Dan, 13, and Jimmy, 9, were sent to St Michael's Industrial School in Wyoming county. Beatrice, 5, went to live with Thomas and Jennie Healey O'Malley in Avoca, while Jack, 3, was adopted by Anthony and Sarah O'Brien Hines of Pittston. Infant Elizabeth was placed in St Joseph's Foundling Home in Dunmore, where she survived her mother by less than eight weeks.
a. Francis A McClymer was born in 1904 in Dunmore and died in 1983 in Dunmore. He married Mary Earley, daughter of John J Early and Julia M Kelly, in 1932 in Dunmore. She was born in 1905 in Dunmore and died in 1997 in Clarks Summit, Lackawanna, Pennsylvania.
b. Daniel Joseph McClymer was born in 1905 in Dunmore and died in 1977 in Wilmington, New Castle, Delaware. He married Josephine Summa, daughter of Giuseppe Summa and Rose Marie Galasso, in 1929. She was born in 1905 in Dunmore and died in 1980 in Scranton, Lackawanna, Pennsylvania.
c. James McClymer was born in 1910 in Dunmore and died in 1952.
d. Mary Elizabeth McClymer was born in 1912 in Dunmore and died in 1990 in Scranton. She married Francis Edward Caulson, son of Charles George Caulson and Mary Ann Burke, in 1936. He was born in 1912 in Dunmore and died in 1977 in Dunmore.
e. Beatrice Genevieve McClymer was born in 1914 in Dunmore and died in 1966 in Moscow, Lackawanna, Pennsylvania. After the death of her mother, Beatrice went to live with Thomas and Genevieve Healey O'Malley in Avoca. Jennie was the sister-in-law of Theresa McCarthy Healey, Elizabeth Ford Mclymer's maternal first cousin. At some point after the death of Thomas O'Malley, before the 1930 census, Bea returned to Dunmore. She married William Keisling Jr, son of William Keisling and Louise M Huss, in 1935. He was born in 1905 in Scranton and died in 1986 in Moscow.
f. John F McClymer was born in 1917 and died in 1944 in Burma. After the death of his mother, Jack was adopted by Anthony and Sarah O'Brien Hines and known by the name John F Hines. Sadie was the daughter of Andrew O'Brien, a brother of Theresa McCarthy Healey and another first cousin of Elizabeth Ford McClymer. Jack married Elizabeth Trippett between 1942-1944. She was possibly born in Oklahoma.
g. Elizabeth McClymer was born in 1919 in Dunmore. Her mother died when she was about two weeks old. A few weeks later she was placed at St Joseph's Foundling Home in Dunmore. She died there about five weeks later, surviving her mother by less than eight weeks.
