My McIntosh family (William and his wife Isabella and their son ) arrived in New Zealand in 1842. They sailed from Greenock Scotland but were living in Glasgow.  William's father John was an Excise Officer in Wick and Inverness.

I descend from John McIntosh b 1824 and Jane Hunter McIntosh b abt 1810 - my great great grandfather was their son Henry Hunter McIntosh b 1848 in Ayrshire Scotland. John McIntosh died in 1847 in scotland. Jane and the rest of the family immigrated to the us. This is a family of coal miners They lived in Clay County Kansas, cleveland, Illinois and Trinidad Colorado. often moving backand forth.
