Mcpherson of Clay County Indiana

Looking for info regarding an Alexander Mcpherson Born somewhere in Scotland in 1816 Parents unknown. Historical records in Clay County Indiana have him being a farmer owning 220 acres and having a coal mine. First came to America at the age of 3 with a father and stepmother no names given. His father was said to have passed away with yellow fever on the way over from Scotland they were on their way to Ohio Alexander was sent back to Scotland then came back over into Canada  they say in 1835 and moved to Clay county in 1840's where he lived till he passed in 1885.
