Hi, Wondering is anyone in this group can shed some light on some questions I have. I've done some family research and it looks like I may be related to this line. Everything I have found on the internet seems to match with what little I know of my family and everything traces back in aneat line. the only problem is that my father always said we were German and this line goes back to England.

My grandfather was Isaac Edward Meiggs, married to Anna Sprague, Isaac seems to have come originally from Rhode Island to Mass. Other name si found in cdonnection to him were Alton Lake Meiggs, John Meiggs, Asa Meiggs, and a Vincent. Most of the family appear in documnets from Bristol and Newport, RI.

Do these names show up in anyone's Meiggs history?

I am married to a Meigs.  I have the family history going all the way back to Vincent Meiggs (alias Vincent Love.)  We have recently located more children of Vincent that were previously unknown.

 

It is an incredibly interesting family, and they have made their marks in history since the day they first stepped on shore in America in 1637.
