Ok I have some records from Adams and Wilkinson counties in Mississippi, part of the Miss-Lou area.

Just started it and currently all of the records are African-American. Additionally, if anyone would like to post any records from the following locales please feel free! Tensas Parish, Concordia Parish, Pointe Coupee Parish, East and West Feliciana Parishes in Louisiana. Adams County, Wilkinson County, Amite County and Jefferson County in Mississsippi. This is the Miss-Lou region. Any and all inquiries are WELCOME! and we practice the RAOGK (Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness) Leave a record, take a record! :-)

Hello,

 I am looking for information for a couple that resided in Mississippi and then their children moved to Louisiana.  The names are Erwin Griffin born around 1900 in Jones Co.  He married Elizabeth Childress.  From Census records I know they were in Jasper in 1910.  They had at least one sone named James Griffin.  Erwin was also married to a Lilla.  Any help on the Griffin family or the CHildress family would be appreciated.

If you get the opportunity, An American genealogist in Paris, I suggest that you go to Adams county and visit the local library as they have a genealogy section. Have you attempted to contact the local newspaper to see if you can get copy of some of their archives? I know that the longest running newspaper in the area is actually in Wilkinson County, MS The county maintains copies of the newspaper at the Chancery Court house. Something might have appeared in their paper. Also you may want to look at the local cemeteries and request their records, if they are still available. Adams County and Wilkinson county both have historical societies which house some of the more interesting information about the counties as well as general information. Happy Hunting!

I am seeking a death registration, grave, or newspaper report on an Israel Dodge who is said to have been murdered near Natchez in about 1836. So far, no luck at all and I am at a loss of where else to look. Any suggestions, please?
