Discharged at Jefferson Barracks?
Hi-
My FIL's great grandfather claimed in an interview that he had been discharged at Jefferson Barracks, MO. I do not know what year, but I'm assuming between 1870-73, I'm wondering if this was possible?

I live in St Louis County just a mile from Jefferson Barracks. I have visited the museum. I was very impressed . As for if your relative could have been discharged from Jefferson Barracks, that is very possible the Barracks was an active base upto and including War World I and World War II. There is still a small portion of the area being used today mostly as a reserve training base. If you are ever in the St. Louis area you should come and visit the County park that now makes up most of what was once the fort. The Missouri Civil War Museum is there as well as a few other museums. Maryg
