The most useful genealogy site in Missouri is Barry Co. They have a dynamic list administrator Donna Cooper and a bunch of volunteers that contribute, canvas cemeteries, etc. Last year they were voted the best in the country. I highly recommend them.

You gave a general link to Missouri Digital Heritage, but there is another more specific link to Historical books, including Houck's Histories of Missouri, that is ouzzing with names. I think there is a search feature.
