Henry A. Wipfler....
I'm hoping someone could help shed some light on this person. Henry A Wipfler. I have city directories with him living in Somerville.Mass at least from 1889 to 1892 and in the 1892 Boston city directory working as a clerk and living in Somerville.
When he was living in Somerville he lived at 563 Somerville Ave. with a Alois Wipfler. I have not been able to prove this is his father,uncle etc. When he was working in Boston the address he worked at was 137 Federal St.. The census for Boston say he is a boarder still at the same address in Somerville.
Henry shows up in Allegheny County Pa, Sometime after 1893. He must have been married (which I know isn't always the case) because his first child was born 1893 and according to the 1900 census for Allegheny County show his wife as a widow and birth years of their children.I have a cemetery card showing his plot number and date he was buried,1898. Any census I've seen with his birthplace listed says he was born in Mass.

He did die in Allegheny county. I do not have him before the city directories I posted.

In the 1910 census, I see Alois Whipfler, he indicates that he immigrated in 1869, has daughters Elizabeth, Katherine and Mary, living with him in Somerville.
In 1900, I see an Alaric Wipler, born June 1845, in Somerville, he was from Germany, imm. 1868, and was a piano maker. He was married to Annie, they married circa 1870, she imm 1869. They had 6 children born, 4 were still living. Their children were John, born June 1886, Mary, March 1884, Catherine, March 1883, and Elizabeth, December 1881.
So, I would look for a marriage record for Alaric/Alois Wipler/Wipfler to an Annie in MA about 1870. I saw an IGI record for a Henry A Wipfler born in 1872, I would assume that Alois and Annie would be his parents at this time, though that is just an educated guess at this point, and nothing more. -

I found it on Ancestry, but the LDS pilot should have the 1900 census and Heritage Quest should have this family in 1910.

hi Bob-
I see an Eloise Whifler(male) with wife Annie on the 1880 census in Somerville, he has four daughters, the oldest is a Hannah, age 6, I'm thinking "Hannah" could be Henry? Eloise is a shoemaker. I've seen stranger things on census records. I'm attaching the record. - Attachments:

i have good news and bad news. i found the document on NEHGS and i downloaded their super plug-in to see the document better. However, for the life of me I cannot find it once it decides to save it to a temp folder in order to send it to you. if you want I could print and snail mail or find me a good abc computer person to explain how to get this to you.
