Welcome, Larry. :)

Can you tell us our sources for your information? Do you have census records, marriage, military or death records?
There are a number of sources for the information I have. Bulloch County, GA census records, Poor School Records, marriage records in Bulloch County (1817), family history. He did have a son named Ryall as well as the other three I mentioned. Ryall moved to Charlton County, GA. I did not have my files available when I entered the infomation. The also may have had a daughter who married a Kicklighter in Lowndes County, GA.

I will be happy to send you my records or you may go on my family website. I will need your e-mail address to send you that information and a copy of my family history.

I don't know when or where John Thomas died, but he left Lowndes County between 1840 - 1850. The is some tradition that tells he had to leave Lowndes County because he got in trouble with the law for teaching Blacks to read. I have no documentation on this.

Circumstantial evidence suggests he went to Bulloch County from Edgefield County, SC. We have some evidence his father's name was William Thomas.

My grandfather told me of John Thomas going to Florida with the Raulersons.

Thank you for replying.

Larry Thomas
I've done a cursory search on John Thomas and his sons. I'm curious if there was an older son of John and Sarah? I find a Ryall Thomas living near an Elias Thomas in 1850. There is a Sarah Thomas, age 70, living with Ryall in Lowndes, GA.

Do you know when Sarah died?

I have found many Raulerson families in Florida in 1850, but nothing indicating a John Thomas born 1790 in SC was in FL in 1850 or 1860.
Kate,

I will have to get home to my records to see if I have Sarah Thomas' date of death. There were two Sarah Thomas' and I have to make sure which is which.

Larry
