I am looking for any info on the death of Maggie Stover Kurley. She was married to Lee Robert Kurley. Think she died in the 1880's.

GeneJ, This is Lee's second wife. The Mary J mentioned is my mother. We know all about Mandy, but nothing about Mother's grandmother Maggie. All we know is that Lee was married to her and that her daughter Susie Kurley Cundiff was Mother's mother. We are pretty sure she was a Stover before she married Lee. We don't know if she died in Texas, Ok, or AR or when.
Hi Sue-

I found a tree on Ancestry that indicates Maggie was born in 1860, do you know where she was born?

Kate
Kate< I am not sure. We think she was born in Missour, really don't know.
Okay, here's what I know or think I know: Lee Robert Kurley (parents unknown) married Maggie Alice Stover (I think) (date unknown). They had three children that I know of: Susan Kurley who married Robert Cundiff ( my grandparents), Maggie Alice Kurley who married a Walter Rapier and Ethel Kurley who married Logan Davis. I am not sure when any of these people where born. Susan was born sometime after 1880 and she died in 1913. What I am really looking for is when Maggie Alice Stover and Lee Robert Kurley were married, when she died and where. We think she was the daughter of Isaac and Louisa Stover.
I hope I did this right. For some reason I get really confused as to how to do all this.
Amanda was an Allen . She and lee got married somewhere in Howard County , AR we think. They had 2 children. Cora who married a Charlie Seymore. I think they moved to Oregon. Purtle married a Dopsey Montgomery. They lived in Pike County, AR. She died in the 1920's around the same time Lee did. Purtle and Mandy both died in Mount Ida, Pike County, AR. I don't know dates. I know Mandy died before him and it was before 1970. Mandy had a brother named John. Susan Kurley Cundiff had my mother in 1910 before she died in 1913. My mother eventually went to live with Lee and Mandy but they (Mandy) wouldn't tell her much about her mother, grandmother Maggie or the Cundiffs.

Mary Alice "Maggie" Stover was born in Missouri in 1864 to Isaac Stover and Louisa Bellew (spelling?).  Maggie is found in Grand River, Henry County, Missouri during the 1870 census as Alice Stover.  The Maggie Stover is living near her family in Precinct 4, Collin County, Texas during the 1880 census as Mary A Kerby (or Kerley).

Leroy Kerley and M A Stover were married in Collin County, Texas on 03 JUN 1880.  (A copy of the marriage record is attached.)

Maggie and Leroy had three daughters: Ethel Belle, Susan and Maggie Alice Kerley.  Their last daughter, Maggie Alice, was born 02 NOV 1892 in Oklahoma.

So, we can assume that Mary Alice did not die until 1892 in Oklahoma.

Leroy Kerley married Amanda Allen on 12 APR 1896 in Chickasaw Nation (Chickasaw Marriages Book B, Page 17, Number 33).

The marriage took place in what is today Emet, Johnston County, Oklahoma.  (I have attached a copy of the marriage record.)

So, Mary Alice Stover Kerley probably died between NOV 1892 and APR 1896 in Johnston County, Oklahoma.  Mary's parents are both buried in Friendship Cemetery, Tribbey, Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma (Isaac died 10 MAR 1911 and Louisa died in Emet, OK in 1915).

Leroy and Amanda are living in Sulphur Springs, Howard County, Arkansas during the 1900 census with Ethel and Susan Kerley.  I cannot find Maggie in the 1900 census.  She marries Walter Summerfield Raper in Johnston County, OK on 16 AUG 1908.

Leroy Kerley is living in Wise County, TX during the 1910 census, and Caney, Montgomery County, AR during the 1920 census.  He dies in Rosboro, Pike County, AR on 22 NOV 1928 (Arkansas DC is attached).
