Good morning Russell,
I checked the records, and don't see a Mary Adelaide that fits. The only Mary Adelaide that I came across was 5 months old when she went to England with a Mary that was 65. Do you know what part of England Daniel was from?
Do you have any other information on her American side?
Thank you Kate,
it is a slim chance that this could be my aunt Mary as i have no record of her birth and i am only going on memory of family stories that some times get mixed up . what i know and have proof of is Mary Adalaide Downey Is my aunt My proof she came to visit my mom in late 1960's ! #2 My Grand mother Julia A Rowe - Downey Died Aug 6 1915 And Aunt Mary Was taken to England shortly their after
What i do not know is if aunt Mary Was Born 1910 as the First child of Dainel and Julia or in 1915 as the last
My mother was born April26 1914 so it is possible that Aunt Mary was Born after her but before Julia died
Aug 1915 I had always believed that she was older but now am not sure . she is not in 1910 censes And Daniel Russell Jr her bro was born 15 oct 1911 it would be unlikely that she was born before the 1910 censes. There Fore i must belive she was borne some time early in 1915 and could be the Mary A downey 5 month old traveling with mary downey age 65
Hi Russell-

In 1920, I find Daniel Sr, Daniel Jr(age 8) and Arthur age 6 in the household of William Coleman in Rock Hall, Kent County, MD, is there a relationship between the Coleman/Downey family? The census taker listed the Downeys as boarders.
these family are related through marriage as most of Rock Hall was in the 1800'sand at that my mother was with her grand mother and grand father James & Elmira Rowe
On the 1910 census, I find Daniel, Julia and Julia's mother in Edesville, Kent County, MD, as Russell, Iula, and Iula, the record was a bit hard to read. Julia and Daniel had been married 2 years, there are no children born to them yet.
yes i have this record Julia and Daniel and (lula) Julia Batton Who is Julia's Grand mother b.1839 Was married to Jashua Townsend I do not Know Where the name Batton comes from
I think I found Daniel at age 3 in London, on the 1881 census, he was born in Newscastle on Tyne, Northumberland. Mother was Mary, siblings Elizabeth, Victoria and May? They are lodging with a Mary Roy, Mary Downey appears to be married, but no husband appears on the census.

His Father Daniel b.1832died 15 Jul 1881in Bethnal House. Daniel Russell left England from Liverpool Arriving New York ,NewYork 16 Dec 1904
