PLEASE HELP....I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR SILAS RATLIFF FOR A LONG TIME NOW AND JUST CANNOT MAKE THE CONNECTION.  THIS IS WHAT I DO KNOW *FOR SURE*....

SILAS BORN ABT 1872 (ACCORDING TO 1910,20,30 CENSUS)

          DIED ABT 1930 (CANNOT FIND HIM AFTER 1930)

          MARRIED 1905 CLERINDA COLLIER

          CHILDREN...JOHN H, EMMA E, MARYBELLE, ARVILLE, RICHARD, WOODROW 

ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED....I DO NOT KNOW WHO HIS PARENTS WERE OR ANY OTHER INFORMATION ABOUT HIS LIFE PRIOR TO THIS MARRIAGE OR AFTER 1930...IT'S LIKE HE JUST DISAPPEARED.

Hi, I'd love to take a peek - but where is this for? What census did you find him in? For what location? You may want to look in the census to see who his neighbors are, or who possibly lived with him if they were older than him. Then look up those folks in the age range of parents for Silas and see if they are in an earlier census and can give you more clues perhaps.

Make sure you change the names of spellling....ie - Clerinda is/may be Clarenda....

Silas may be Salis............I have a Silas in my family too....spelled many different ways.

There is a lot of info  on Silas Ratliff on the free site Mundia run by Ancestry, you just need to register, says his parents are John S. Ratliff 1840-1927 and Mary Elizabeth Carter 1846-1922. Good luck http://www.mundia.com/gb
