William L PAGE born 1803 city of Richmond,VA>York Co,VA by 1826

I am trying to find information on my ancestor William L PAGE and his parents,Jno (John) and Mary PAGE. The story goes that William was born in the city of Richmond in 1803. On 26 December 1826,he married Rachel MESSICK in Poquoson,York Co,VA. Their children were:

2)Emeline PAGE b 1830 married Hiram TAYLOR

3)Ann/Nancy PAGE b 31 Jan 1833 married William Thomas FORREST,Sr.

5)Curtis PAGE b 1838 married Sylvia ???

6)Sarah M PAGE b 1842

7)Dolly PAGE b 1845

8)Obediah PAGE b 15 Apr 1849 d 10 Oct 1914 married 1st Virginia FREEMAN 2 Dec 1871 York Co,VA

married 2nd Martha Ella MOORE 9 Feb 1884 York Co,VA

William was widowed and married a 2nd time to Julany HUDGINS (widow). They were married on 24 Oct 1856 York Co,VA. The record for this marriage is where the names of his parents come from.

How is it possible to know which John PAGE is his father?There seem to be alot of them in the same time period. I have already been told by one researcher that she believes he may be a descendant of Col John PAGE. She based this on the fact that she has researched all other PAGE families except that of Col John PAGE. There is also the problem of burned records. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
