What does this mean, that the National Institute has acquired GenWise?  How does that change things?

I am working towards my Certificate in American Studies. I finished 6 of the first 9 classes and am taking a break for summer. Looking forward to starting up again in the fall. I have really loved all of my classes so far.

Welcome to the website Tammy. Hopefully you can get back into study before too long.

Hello. I have taken several classes from NIGS. I have the Basic and Intermediate certificates in American Records and the Basic and Intermediate certificates in General Methodology. I want to take more classes and become a professional genealogist. However, at this time, I cannot afford to take the classes. I have found wonderful information and enjoy all I learn.

Hi to you all
I got my English Records PLCGS last year, and this year have completed my Irish Records as well. I have recently taken over from Dr Penny Christensen as the chat consultant for English Records and am loving it. I also enjoyed all of the Analysis courses, yes, I found the first phone contact daunting, but the instructor was just great and we chatted for ages!

Deborah, I absolutely loved all of the Analysis and Skills Mentoring courses. The ability to have the phone conversations with the instructor were frightening to me at first, but the instructors are so friendly and knowledgable that I quickly got over my fear and shyness and was able to benefit from the experience. I will get my binders down later today and go through them to remember more about the classes. I graduated in 2006 so it's been awhile. :)

Hi Jennifer, It made sense for me to choose the American Records program--not only because U. S. records/repositiories are the closest and most available to me, but in order to learn more about my Irish ancestors, their county of origin in Ireland, etc., I needed to know as much as I could about U. S.
records. I started the program last November and am almost finished with basic level classes. I will then register for Analysis and Skills Mentoring, part 1., which I am excited about. If anyone wishes to share their experiences about this 52 week course or discuss its benefits, I'd be happy to listen.
