If my instructions are not clear I obviously need to amend them. When I follow my own instructions I get an indication that the surname Linstead is mentioned on three pages. Why does this not happen when you try? I have no idea unless you tell me which search engine you are using and what you are entering in the search box I cannot help. Perhaps not all search engines operate in the same way perhaps you have misunderstood my instruction in some way which I could not possibly have anticipated. I am afraid that Lesley's "ahhhh" does not move thing forward at all as far as I am concerned.

Looking forward to clearing up the confusion. Please excuse the delay I do not turn my computer on every day

I am  a bit thick re computers but I tried your suggestion below with Linstead, one of my Norfolk surnames and the search engine could not find anything. Is this because there is nothing or did I misunderstand your instructions below? Sorry to be a pain!

If you are looking for a particular surname in Norfolk England you may like to know that I have now recorded the memorial inscriptions at over 60 Norfolk parishes and will continue to do so. To search for the surname Jones for example enter this in your search engine

CALLED HOME.
The Great Reaper of all the world suddenly claimed the life of Mary Wilson on the evening of October thirty-first. Mrs. Wilson was a lady much respected by all, a gentle Christian mother whose children always felt and showed the strongest devotion to her.

She had been a widow for about thirteen years and for many years past has resided on her farm near Helena. Mrs. Wilson has been in ill health for some time and on the day of her death went to pay her daughter, Mrs. James Woods, who resides but a short distance away, a visit, and during the evening the mother was stricken with paralplis and died almost immediately.

The deceased was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Morley formerly of Roxborough, Glengary County, Ontario at which place Miss Morley was born, sixty-eight years ago.

At the age of twenty-two she was joined in marriage to George Wilson at Muskoka Lakes, Ontario, and shortly after moved to this state, settling first in Sherman township, Huron County, then moving to their farm in Sand Beach township.

The deceased is survived by nine children, five boys: James and John of Sterling, Mich.; William and George of King County, Wash., and Samuel Allen Wilson at home and four daughters: Mrs. David Wood of King County, Wash.; Mrs. Leo Lamb and Mrs. Fred Roberts of Detroit; and Mrs. James Woods of Sand Beach township.

Two sisters, Catherine and Elizabeth of Pottsdam, N.Y and Osprey, Ontario, respectively, and five brothers, namely; William, David and Robert of Sterling, Mich.; Samuel of Northwestern Canada, and John A. Morley of this city also survive her.

The profusion of beautiful floral pieces and the great sorrow which this sad event of death caused the deceased many friends, bespoke the high esteem in which she was held.

Rev. R. H. Munro officiated at the funeral services which were held from the family home Friday at 1:30.

The remains were enterred in Rock Fall Cemetery. (Harbor Beach Times, Friday, November 24, 1911, p.1).

"I William George Wilson of the Township of Sand Beach in the county of Huron and State of Michigan being of full age and of sound mind and memory but mindful of the uncertainities of human life do make publish and declare this my last will and testament in manner following that is to say:
First: after the payment of my just debts and funeral expenses I give devise and bequeth to my son William Wilson my right and title to S.E. 1/4 of S.E. 1/4 Section 26 (40 acres more or less). He to pay all claims against said property.

Second: I give devise and bequeth to my wife Mary Wilson my right and title to N.E. 1/4 of N.E. 1/4 Sec. 35 also all my personal property. She to support all the children till they become of age if they reside with her.

Third: I give devise and bequeth to my sons John Wilson - James Wilson - Samuel Wilson and George Wilson and my daughters Anne Woods - Mary Wilson - Viola Wilson & Velette Wilson the sum of five dollars each. The said amount to be paid by my wife Mary Wilson from estate bequethed her. The said sum to be paid when each becomes of age..

Fourth: I hereby nominate and appoint William H. Wilson the executor of this my last will and testament and hereby authorize and empower him the said William H. Wilson to compound, compromise and settle any claim or demand which may be against or in favor of my said estate.

Fifth: I hereby revoke all former wills by me made.

OBIT:
Mr. William George Wilson, whose death occurred a short time ago, was born in Ireland in 1832. At nine years of age he moved with his parents to Canada, in 1861 he was married ot Miss Mary Morley and in 1878 moved to Michigan with his family and settled in the township of Sherman, Huron county, and resided there until about seven years ago when he removed to Sand Beach township where he lived until the time of his death which occurred March 10, 1898. Mr. Wilson was a loving father, a kind neighbor and a good citizen. He leaves a family of nine children, five boys and four girls, to mourn his loss. The bereaved family have the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community. Rev. Omans conducted the funeral services at the house and the remains were laid to rest in the Rock Falls cemetery. Obit: "John Allen Morley, a former business man of this city passed away very peacefully, Sunday, September 14th after a long illness. He has been in ill health for the past seven years, and for the past two years he was confined to his bed. Mr. Morley was engaged in the laundry business for fifteen years, his son Robert was in partnership with him. In 1918 Mr. Morley retired and his son took over the business. Mr. Morley was born at Lancaster, Glengarry Co.,
Ontario, November 5, 1854 of English parents, who immigrated to this country in the year 1938. At the age of thirteen Mr. Morley perempted a farm in Muskoka district, Ontario, then in 1876 he came to Huron county and bought a farm in Sherman township, which was still in the wilderness He bilt a home on the quarter line as surveyors lines were not quite accurate. In 1886 he moved to Sand Beach. He married Miss Jennie Graham in 1880 and seven children were born to their union, all are still living in Michigan. The mother departed from life in 1900.
In 1912 Mr. Morley again married, Mrs. Marie Attridge, who survives his death. Funeral services were held from the home at 1:00 Wednesday afternoon, with Rev. O.B. Ansted officiating. Burial was made in Rock Falls cemetery. Those left to mourn his death: his wife and three sons, Robert of this city; John and Frank of Royal Oak; four daughters, Mrs. George Fisher of Clawson; Mrs. Minnie Yager, Detroit; Mrs. D. Ballenger, Flint; and Mrs. Jay Snider of Lansing; also fourteen grandchildren. The people who attended the funeral from out of town, were: Orvel Caswell and Charles Mosher, I. Graham and Maude Graham of Deckerville; Mr. & Mrs. Leo Lamb, Mrs. Minnie Yager, of Detroit; Mr. and Mrs. James Woods and Mr. & Mrs. Sam Wilson of Helena; Mr. & Mrs John Morley and Mr. & Mrs. Frank Morley, of Royal Oak; Mr. & Mrs. George Fisher of Clawson; Mr. & Mrs. D. Ballenger, of Flint; and Mrs. Jay Snyder, of Lansing; Mr. & Mrs. William Crandell, Mrs. Marie Murphy and Mr. & Mrs. A.I. Obit: "Mrs. John A. Morley, age 27 years, died at her home in this village on Friday morning last, after a brief illness of only six days. Her health was the direct result of a complication of diseases, and medical aid was powerless to put off the dreaded moment. She leaves a husband and seven children to mourn the loss of a devoted wife and mother. A sad circumstance in connection with the greater trial was the enforced absence of the husband during the critical period of last week, and on whose account the funeral has been delayed. Mr. Morley left for the Klondike some three years ago, but for the past year has been located at Vancouver, B.C. He was notified of Mrs. Morley's sudden illness and death, and left Vancouver Sunday last. Owing to the great distance, it is hardly expected that he will reach Harbor Beach until Saturday evening.
The remains of the deceased lady will not be interred until Mr. Morley's arrival home. The departed was a highly respected lady of this community, a patient and devoted wife and a careful and watchful mother. She was a member of the local lodge of the L.O.T.M. in which society she held insurance to the amount of $1,000. It is expected the funeral will be held some time Sunday." Obit: "Death of David Morley.
David Andrew Morley was born in Ontario, Canada, April 27 1861 and passed away August 3, 1936 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. John Gage. Cause of death was a stroke. He was united in marriage Feburary 12, 1884 to Isabella Harrington of Ontario. Shortly after they were married they came to Moores Junction where they settled and cleared up the farm where they lived until after the death of his wife February 28, 1919. To this union were born 10 children, four of whom are living. They are Mrs. Alice Gage, Standish; William, Moores Junction; Tracey, Tacoma, Washington; & Mrs. Emma Parow of Dearborn; 16 grandchildren, nieces and nephews & a host of friends & neighbors to mourn his loss. Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Free Methodist church with Rev. Bertha Davis officiating. Burial was in the family lot at Sterling." (Arenac Co. Independent, Wednesday, Aug. 5, 1936, p.8)

My Hall family were at Southery- not that far from West Dereham and out down Feltwell Fen /Methwold Anchor which is a bit further away.

I am looking for anything on the BIX (BIXX / BIXE / BICKS) family. I have a church death record from Canada that tells of Susan(na) wife of William BIX, she b. c. 1786, d. 1836. And that they were late of Norfolk. Not sure if it means they resided in Norfolk or simply departed from Norfolk. They had at least one daughter Christian(n) b. c. Dec 1815 England and possibly a son James. Wondering if anyone else is researching the family and can add to my information. Thanks. Jim

I have over 30 Melton's in my tree, many from the Whissonsett area. The key one is Robert Hewitt Melton b 1863 in Whissonsett who married Hattie Chapman my 1st cousin 4 x removed.
